Meet The Admission Team

David Donovan is the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Delbarton School where, since 1991, he has been a history teacher, faculty mentor, club moderator, and soccer coach as well as a member of the Administrative Team, the Middle States Accreditation Team, and the Strategic Planning Committee.  

Dr. Donovan received his B.A. from Brown University, his M.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and his M.Phil and Ph.D from the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew University in European intellectual history where he held the Callihan, Caspersen and Weaver Fellowships.  As a former Adjunct Professor at Kean University and member of the National Association of Scholars, he is the author of the literary study Spiritual Selfhood and the Modern Idea. 

Dr. Donovan is the former President of the Board of Trustees at the Willow School in Gladstone, New Jersey, and served on the Board of Directors for the Roothbert Fund in Manhattan and as a Trustee of the Tuxedo Park School in New York.  A cohort member of the E.E. Ford Foundation's NAIS Emerging School Leader program, Dr. Donovan remains a Trustee for the Shepherds of Youth and serves on the Advisory Council for Platinum Minds—institutions that support educational outreach, leadership, and development initiatives for young students throughout the region. 

Dr. Donovan lives in Chester, New Jersey with his wife, Sheila, and five children--four of whom attend or graduated from Delbarton School.

Mr. Jake Ross

Jake Ross is the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Delbarton School. He holds a B.A. in history from Lafayette College where he played soccer and baseball. He also holds a M.A. in Educational Leadership and Policy from Seton Hall University. 

Jake first worked at Delbarton from 2003 to 2013 when he served as a history teacher, class moderator, admissions representative, and soccer, hockey, and baseball coach. After working in various administrative roles at another independent school, Jake returned home to Delbarton when, in addition to his admission duties, he rejoined the History Department and coaches soccer, hockey and baseball. 

Jake and his wife, Kelly, live in Chester, NJ where they are parents of three boys.

Mrs. Connie Curnow

Connie Curnow is the Administrative Assistant for Admissions at Delbarton School.  Connie joined Delbarton School in 1994 and has served continuously as the Administrative Assistant in the Admissions Office.  She is a lifetime resident of Morristown and raised her three sons with her husband and high school sweetheart, Dave.  When asked about her years at Delbarton, Connie replies that the best part about coming to work is that every day is completely different from the next and that something exciting is always going on at Delbarton.  She has earned the respect and admiration of not only her colleagues but of Delbarton students, alumni, and parents across three decades.

Mr. Jordan Hubbard '17

Jordan Hubbard is the Admissions Diversity Coordinator, AP Psychology teacher, and moderator of the Diversity Among Peers (DAP) program. Jordan was born and raised in Newark, NJ, and is an alumnus of the Delbarton Class of 2017. Jordan attended Drew University where he earned a degree in Psychology and Sociology. In 2021, Jordan returned to Delbarton as a member of the inaugural Alumni Teaching Fellows program, which brings recent alumni back to campus to work as teachers for one year. Jordan’s commitment to students, the school, and its mission became even more apparent as a faculty member which led him to his current position in the Admissions Office. Jordan is very excited to be back at Delbarton where he can impact the lives of current students and help attract new students whom he hopes to mentor as future leaders in their own communities.
