NAVIGATING DELBARTON

Delbarton draws students from 12 counties and 120 towns, which makes transportation an important topic for our families. We offer a variety of options to make getting to and from our campus convenient, and our goal is to make the daily commute as easy as possible.

train station shuttles

Delbarton services the Morristown Train Station in the morning at 4:15pm and at 6:00pm.  In addition, Delbarton services the Summit Train Station in the morning and at 4:15pm.  Students who live in surrounding areas can choose this option for travel to and from school.

car pooling

Upon request, Delbarton is happy to provide parents of enrolled students with the contact information of other families from their geographic region to arrange carpools.

municipal busing

Many of our students are bussed by the public school district (morning and 4:15 pm) in which they reside. Most of the local school boards provide either transportation or its monetary equivalent to private school students who reside between 2 and 20 miles from the school they attend. In rural counties, the farthest distance is 30 miles. The policy for transportation/reimbursement varies according to each town’s practices. Related information can be obtained by calling your Municipal Board of Education.

pick up locations

Due to wide geographical spread of each bus route, there are a limited number of stops for pick-up and drop-off.  Parents are responsible for bringing their son(s) to and from these points. Bus route and stop locations change to varying degrees each year based upon the demographics of our student body.  In the past, bus service has been offered from Newark, Hunterdon County and Somerset County as well.
