meet the Admissions team
David Donovan is the Dean of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid at Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey where, since 1991, he has been a history teacher, faculty mentor, club moderator, and soccer coach as well as a member of the Administrative and Academic Councils, the Accreditation Team, and the Strategic Planning Committee.
Dr. Donovan received his B.A. from Brown University, his M.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and his M.Phil and Ph.D from the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies at Drew University in European intellectual history where he held the Callihan, Caspersen and Weaver Fellowships. As a former Adjunct Professor at Kean University and member of the National Association of Scholars, he is the author of the literary study Spiritual Selfhood and the Modern Idea.
Dr. Donovan is the former President of the Board of Trustees at the Willow School in Gladstone, New Jersey, and served on the Board of Directors for the Roothbert Fund in Manhattan and as a Trustee of the Tuxedo Park School in New York. A cohort member of the E.E. Ford Foundation's NAIS Emerging School Leader program, Dr. Donovan remains a Trustee for the Shepherds of Youth and serves on the Advisory Council for Platinum Minds—institutions that support educational outreach, leadership, and development initiatives for young students throughout the region.
Dr. Donovan lives in Chester, New Jersey with his wife, Sheila, and five children--four of whom attend or graduated from Delbarton School.
Connie Curnow is the Administrative Assistant for Admissions at Delbarton School. Connie joined Delbarton School in 1994 and has served continuously as the Administrative Assistant in the Admissions Office. She is a lifetime resident of Morristown and raised her three sons with her husband and high school sweetheart, Dave. When asked about her years at Delbarton, Connie replies that the best part about coming to work is that every day is completely different from the next and that something exciting is always going on at Delbarton. She has earned the respect and admiration of not only her colleagues but of Delbarton students, alumni, and parents across three decades.
Jaime Paris is the Diversity Admissions Outreach Coordinator at Delbarton School. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University, and his M.A. from Montclair State University in 2013. Jaime is currently a PhD ABD candidate at Rutgers University.
Jaime has been a part of the Delbarton community as a faculty member since 2006. Before coming to Delbarton, Jaime taught Spanish at Bloomfield High School and English at Discovery Charter School in Newark. At Delbarton, he currently teaches Spanish and moderates the Spanish and Chess clubs. Jaime joined the Admissions Committee in 2010 and currently works as Diversity Admissions Outreach Coordinator, chairs the Diversity Admissions Caucus and is a member of the Financial Aid Committee. Jaime was born in Galicia, Spain and, after emigrating to the United States, grew up in Newark, NJ. He and his wife Berta have been married since 2004 and are the proud parents of twins Diego and Sofía.
