Green Wave Fan Zone: Back in Business

From storming the end zone after every touchdown to cheering as loudly as possible for every play, on Saturday, September 11 it was clear the Green Wave Fan Zone was back in action as Delbarton kicked off its home openers for football and soccer.

Processing from the Fine Arts Center plaza, Green Wave fans gathered at the football field with Green Wave flags flying high. Leading the way was the distincitvely attired Green Wave mascot accompanied by students decked out in red, white, and blue in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11/01. Prior to the game, Delbarton honored those who lost their lives that day in the terrorist attacks with a prayer offered by football team Chaplain Abbot Richard Cronin, OSB.

As the game began, Delbarton students were ready to support their team. Fan Zone members brought all their energy with them as Delbarton Football controlled its home field: the final score against St. Anthony's High School of South Huntington, NY was 21-0. Meanwhile, Green Wave Soccer dominated the axtion on Ryan Family Field against Morris Knolls High School:  final score 3-0.

Saturday’s double home opener proved that the Green Wave is back in gear and ready for the season ahead as fall sports continue to compete at home and away. Go Green Wave!
