On October 5, a spectacular fall day with a distinct chill in the air, Delbarton opened its doors to all interested applicants and their families. The Fall Open House drew many young men and parents interested to learn more about the School from administrators, faculty, coaches and, most importantly, from Delbarton students themselves.
Dean of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid Dr. David Donovan welcomed a standing room only crowd in the FAC theater. Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB, explained Delbarton's Benedictine ethos and the School's unique culture and brotherhood. He told guests, "We encourage our young men not simply to consume knowledge, but to create knowledge." Student Body President Rohan Amin '20 did a splendid job of explaining the Delbarton Experience from a student's perspective and Delbarton parents Dalton and Maureen Smart spoke about how the School fosters each boy's unique skills, encourages them to try new things and fosters brotherhood.
Next, families were encouraged to visit break-out sessions featuring academics, extra-curriculars and key topics like transportation and financial aid. Campus tours led by student guides were also offered, and many families strolled around campus on self-guided tours.
Thank you to the many Delbarton students, administrators, teachers, coaches and staff members whose combined efforts created an Open House that demonstrated the authentic hospitality and welcoming attitude so characteristic of the School. We also thank all those young men and parents who took the time to join us this morning. If you have any further questions after today's event, please reach out directly to Dr. Donovan at DDonovan@Delbarton.org.
