This year, Delbarton is blessed with seventeen artists in the Class of 2021. To give each of these talented young men the audience he deserves, we are highlighting each artist with a quotation from his artist's statement, a sample of his art and a link to his digital portfolio.
Our fourteenth featured artist is Thomas Stauder '21 who says this about his art: "In my Sustained Investigation, I have chosen to focus on chalk pastel drawings of still-lifes. In these still-lifes, I assembled assortments of fruits and vegetables against patterned backgrounds. Within these compositions, I have attempted to reveal the distinction between complementary color, the interplay of different patterns and shapes, and the effect of light upon various surfaces. In a similar fashion to artist Janet Fish’s work, elevated views dramatize the compositional elements of my still-lifes. I invite you to explore my visual feasts."
