May 20 was another busy morning for the Class of 2022, filled with the Senior Awards Convocation and an all-class picture.
Click here for the complete list of academic, activity and athletic awards earned by members of the Class of 2022 and we salute all award winners for their accomplishments this year. The awards, which for the first time were presented in the FAC theater with seniors on stage, faculty members in front, and students in back and in the balcony, were announced by Faculty Dean Mr. Josh Hartle and Assistant Headmaster Mr. Chuck Ruebling '79. Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB distributed the many certificates and plaques, assisted by Director of Mission & Ministry Mr. Matthew White. The event was live-streamed to accommodate family members unable to attend.
Next, the audience listened to a wonderful farewell address from Student Body President James Royse ’22 – “We are back. We are SO back!” -- then heard a Faculty Farewell address from faculty member Mr. Jonathan Currie. When the Ceremony ended, the Class of 2022 processed from the FAC for a formal portrait in front of Old Main.
Graduation Day on June 5 is when the seniors don special ties and lapel pins, march into the Abbey Church and the Alumni Association instantly adds 133 new members of the Long Green Line. We salute the gentlemen in the Class of 2022 for their many achievements during their Delbarton years, and especially those garnered during several very challenging COVID-impacted years. This year, the led us back to normalcy, or as close as circumstances would allow. To be back together in one space for today's special convocation was another sign that we are headed in the right direction.
