The Delbarton varsity squash team spent the weekend in Hartford, Connecticut, participating in the 2019 US High School Team Squash Championships. Coming off a 7-0 win over Hun School, the boys geared up for the biggest tournament of the season, going into the opening round ranked 11 out of 16 teams in Division 7.

The Green Wave opened up against #12 Portledge School. Each match was extremely hard fought, with Delbarton coming out victorious 5-2 advancing to the Quarters. On Saturday morning, the Green Wave faced a tough Darien team that played them extremely close. Delbarton closed out the match and took a 4-3 victory to lead them to the semifinals later that night. In the semi's Delbarton once again rose to the occasion, defeating Buckingham, Brown, Nicholas to advance to the Division 7 Championship Finals on Sunday. For the Green Wave, Saturday's victories were both 4-3 wins with a different player deciding the outcome for each match.

The finals saw Delbarton facing an extremely tough opponent in Canisius High School, who had already knocked off the #2 seeded St. Anne's Belfield. In the finals, the Green Wave won matches by Adam Majmudar, Anand Majmudar, David Boyer and Theo Coughlin. Delbarton held onto the lead, defeating Canisius 4-3 to take home the 2019 US High School Team Squash Division 7 championship! "The weekend was exciting with hard fought matches," says head squash coach Craig Paris. "It was a total team effort with every player playing a significant role in the tournament. Every match was decided by a different player."
