Dear Parents,

On Monday, December 17, 2018, the monastic Chapter of St. Mary's Abbey approved the unanimous recommendation of the Lay Board of Trustees regarding Delbarton School's tuition for the 2019-20 academic year. Tuition will increase by 2.5%, from $38,900 to $39,900.

Fees for bus transportation have also increased, after remaining steady for five years. Detailed information about our contract bus services for 2019-20 can be found in this letter from our Director of Transportation, Mr. Kent Manno.

Registration for 2019-20 will take place online through PowerSchool. Look for an email on Wednesday, January 9 from Registrar Jon Cote explaining the re-enrollment process. If you do not receive an email, please contact the business office.

Underscoring Delbarton School's commitment to access by all qualified young men regardless of financial means, we are significantly increasing the financial aid budget to $3,295,699. Financial aid is awarded on a year by year basis, and changes in a family's financial resources will affect both eligibility for aid award amounts. Families who are currently receiving financial aid and who have completed their aid applications for 2019-20 will be notified about next year's aid package in their online enrollment contracts for 2019-20.

The tuition increase will be used to fund higher utility costs, debt service payments for improvements to our campus facilities, and recruitment and retention of the highest quality faculty and staff members. In addition, we will continue to invest in academic programs, athletics, college counseling, and faculty development initiatives, and offer students enriched opportunities for engagement outside the classroom and across the globe.

Every year, endowment earnings and the Delbarton Fund giving provide approximately 14.5 percent of our operating budget, enabling Delbarton School to offer an exceptional education at a comprehensive tuition that is significantly below what we spend on each student. Outside of the operating budget, major gifts also fund campus renovation and construction projects.

Our commitment at Delbarton School is to offer your sons the highest quality Benedictine Catholic education that we can. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at michael@delbarton.org. Thank you for all that you do to advance the mission of Delbarton School.

Yours in Christ and St. Benedict,

Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B.
