The annual Delbarton AP Art Exhibit officially opened on a snowy Tuesday, January 29 at an opening reception in the Fine Arts Center.

This year's line-up of 2019 AP artists includes seniors Thomas Madden, Patrick Christie, Christopher Siegert, Lorenzo Liu, AJ Lonski, Jacob Grayzel, Christian Gasser, Ethan Lowndes, Lucas Acocella and James Donini. They were joined by family, friends, classmates and faculty at the grand opening, with pianists David Boyer '19 and Kevin Zhong '19 providing background music. At one point, the two pianists shared the bench for an impressive one-handed duet -- Zhong: "It helps to know the same pieces" -- with Boyer balancing a paper plate heavy with cake in his other hand. Outside, a lone lacrosse player wearing headphones methodically practiced shots against the FAC wall as snow flakes gently drifted down. Inside, guests commented on the talent and scope of this year's crop of gifted artists who tackled everything from hands and reflections on glass, to African-style masks and, of course, striking self portraits. CJ Gasser's display included realistic portraits of his religious studies teachers...portrayed as saints, halos and all.

The AP Art Exhibit is on display in the FAC through February 28 and we encourage all to take time to stroll through the stunning show that adds dynamic color and life to the FAC walls.
