On January 30, Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd and the Delbarton Admissions Office cordially welcomed Class of 2027 and Class of 2029 students and their families at our annual Accepted Family Reception.

After classes ended and current students hustled to after-school activities, Campus quickly filled with excited young men ready to don green Delbarton hats and go through the friendly gauntlet of senior leaders, including one dressed as the Green Wave mascot who fist-bumped every boy as he arrived. Accepted students in Delbarton Class of 2027 and Class of 2029 sat in the FAC Theater and heard a quick greeting from Admissions Dean Dr. David Donovan, and a friendly hello from Fr. Michael.  Student Body President Finn McDonald '23 recalled his own accepted student experience and how excited he was to forge his own Delbarton experience. "I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in your same seats, ready to embark on my Delbarton journey. If you were to tell me as a nervous freshman I’d be standing here as Student Body President, I would not believe you." McDonald went on to tell our accepted students what changed. between freshman year to now. "People around here push you to strive to be your best and accomplish great things."

Both Fr. Michael and Dr. Donovan reminded the boys that they had been chosen for a specific reason: for their potential and what Delbarton hopes they will contribute to the life of the School. Meanwhile, family members were welcomed in Old Main where parents got to see the newly renovated space, stock up on Delbarton gear, chat and make new friends. Later, the Delbarton Parent Council on Diversity & Inclusion hosted a dinner for families of color to give parents and boys an opportunity to meet current students and experienced parents, yet another opportunity to ask questions and learn more.

The spread of food was a hit as there was an incredible dessert buffet that the Dessert Ladies set up in Old Main for families, large pretzels from Philly Pretzel Factory in the FAC for our new students and to round out the night, pizza, wings and an ice cream bar in the cafeteria provided by SAGE Dining.

Thank you to all who joined us for our 2023 Accepted Family Reception. Delbarton students, faculty and parents worked together to make the welcome a warm and entertaining one...and we know you did not leave hungry! Enjoy some favorite photos below...
