May 20, 2026, was another busy morning for the Class of 2026, filled with the Senior Awards Convocation and a graduation rehearsal in the Abbey Church. Click here for the complete list of academic, activity, and athletic awards earned by members of the Class of 2026.

The Convocation took place in the FAC theater with seniors and faculty in academic attire assembling in the lobby, then processing into the theater filled with underclassmen.

Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B., opened the Convocation saying, "We are right to be proud of achievements but, at a Benedictine school, achievement is more than accolades. It is also about the kind of person you become because of your gifts, and knowing that every gift comes first from God, then is strengthened by parents, teachers, coaches, classmates, and friends."

He thanked members of the Class of 2026 for their many contributions to Delbarton and encouraged underclassmen to emulate the accomplished members of the Class of 2026, saying, "Delbarton is entrusted to each of us," and he encouraged younger students to maintain this standard of excellence moving forward.

Next, the awards were announced by Faculty Dean Josh Hartle, Campus Ministry Director Matthew White and Assistant Headmaster for Student Affairs Chuck Ruebling '79.  Mr. White and Fr. Michael distributed the many certificates, plaques, and medals to seniors and congratulated all recipients on their well-deserved honors. The Spring Varsity Sports Student Convocation followed, where spring sports coaches offered brief remarks about their seasons, then varsity athletes received certificates, Varsity letters, and pins for multiple letter recipients.

Next, Student Body President Dara Corr ‘26 delivered his farewell address by remembering highlights from this spirit-filled year, and thanking everyone who helped along the way, saying, "It's been the privilege of my life to serve as your student body president this year." He spoke about his experience as a lifer, and pointed to brotherhood as "the actual reason why this place is so special. The credit goes to everyone in this room. We refuse to let each other be less."

Faculty member and alumnus Jack O'Reilly '14 delivered the annual Faculty Farewell address and said, "As a teacher and coach, I was finally able to soar. Working here has been an honor, and I am so proud of all that we were able to accomplish together.” Fr. Michael offered a blessing, and singing the school Alma Mater concluded today's event. 

When the Convocation ended, the Class of 2026 processed to Old Main lawn for an all-class photo, then attended a commencement practice in the Abbey Church.

On May 31, members of the Class of 2026 will don graduation ties and lapel pins, process into the Abbey Church for Mass, receive their diplomas, and hear remarks from the graduation speaker, law professor and scholar Martin Flaherty ’77.  Upon exiting the Church, these 142 young men join the Long Green Line of Delbarton alumni, and an exciting new chapter in their lives begins.
