Alumni Gather at Pig Roast 2024
Jessica Fiddes and Jared Lowy

On May 30, a large gathering of Delbarton alumni met on a late spring evening in the Formal Garden for their annual June (so close!) Dinner Meeting, aka Pig Roast, where the weather was perfect for dinner al fresco under the tents.  After a social hour and a brief meeting during which the 2024-2025 board was announced, guests helped themselves to a buffet dinner of roast pork with all the fixings.

But first, there was business to attend to. Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B. warmly welcomed alumni back to Delbarton and shared a brief state of the school report as he reminded alumni to participate in the evening's #DelbartonTOGETHER Pig Roast Power Hour.

Alumni Association 2022-2024 President John Ferramosca '05 was lauded by Jerry Jabbour '92 P '20 and thanked for his extraordinarily committed service to Delbarton. Ferramosca addressed his fellow alumni as their president for the last time. "After fourteen years [on the Alumni Board], what I have learned is that while fourteen years is a very long time, it is not quite long enough," he started. "Your journey in the Alumni Association is for life. This is something that will always be here for you. No matter what you need, no matter where you are, the Delbarton Brotherhood is here for you."

The baton was then officially handed off to incoming President Joe Ferraro '95. "I know what it means to be a Delbarton man," started Ferraro. "I know his rigor, morality, loyalty, empathy, drive, and presence. All are taught in these classrooms, in these fields, and on those stages. I know that being a Delbarton man means living a life of excellence, truth, and service."

Next, Assistant Headmaster for Advancement & Alumni Craig Paris '82 P '13, '15, '19 announced the "Red" Green '56 Fighting Spirit Award recipient and presented the award to Christopher Royse '24 for his persistence, composure, and leadership during his years at Delbarton. We congratulate Topher and his parents, Julie and Christopher, on this well-earned special recognition, and we were gratified to see so many of his Class of 2024 classmates on hand to witness the presentation.

Guests then helped themselves to roast pork, hotdogs, hamburgers, and side dishes, and alumni from across the decades lingered in the Garden to trade stories and catch up. Thank you to all who joined us last night, and onward and upward into 2024-2025 for the Long Green Line of the Delbarton Alumni Association!
