2021 Alumni Career Day
Jessica Fiddes

On May 19, Delbarton Alumni Association President Chris Bury ’91, P'19,20,'23 introduced by Assistant Headmaster for Advancement Craig Paris ’82, P'13,'15,'19 ,welcomed the Class of 2021 into the Long Green Line of Delbarton alumni. Bury offered an excellent case for inclusion in the Delbarton alumni network:  stay connected with friends, attend alumni events to meet and network with alumni from across the decades, become an active member of and contributor to the Delbarton alumni community, and support Delbarton with an annual donation.

Seniors were encouraged to log onto Delbartonalumni.com where they now have access to fellow alumni, access news and invitations, and are able to RSVP to the many events the Alumni Association hosts throughout the year (the first one is right around the corner, the annual Pig Roast/Dinner Meeting in the Garden on Thursday, June 3). Boys can also search jobs and internships, and make valuable connections as they navigate through their college years and beyond. As the youngest members of the Delbarton Alumni Association, boys were also invited to pledge their fiscal support in writing. Bury explained what a key part the Delbarton Annual Fund plays in the life and quality of the school.

Alumni Career Day was next, with remarks by, from left, Jermaine Pugh '00 (Commercial Real Estate), Joe Ferraro '95 (Chief Legal Officer), Alumni Association President Chris Bury '91,P'19,'20,'23, Tyler Hudson-Crimi '08 (Tech Entrepreneur), Michael Johnson '12 (Private Equity), Kevin Neilson '13 (Blockchain Infrastructure) and Tim Fell '89 (Education).

Each man offered advice designed for graduating Delbarton seniors: Stay intellectually flexible in college, think of college as a blank slate for yourself, find your niche and always keep moving forward. Above all, all six men affirmed the power of the Delbarton network.   Several speakers reminded boys of the gift of their Delbarton education and the authentic, supportive community and network that comes with it. As Paris told seniors, "When you're out, you're IN!"

After absorbing some excellent guidance, the boys were more than ready for a picnic of subs, chips, drinks and dessert in the Garden, courtesy of the Alumni Association. Alumni speakers joined them, giving seniors a chance to ask more questions and make connections.

Off to a good start for Delbarton's youngest alumni. On June 6, five thousand-plus Delbarton alumni stand ready to welcome 132 new members from the Class of 2021. The Senior Awards Ceremony takes place on Friday, May 21, followed by the all-class photo on the front lawn of Old Main. After a break for Memorial Day weekend, our young near-grads celebrate at the Senior Prom on Friday, June 4, then join their parents under tents in the Garden for Graduation 2021 on Sunday afternoon, June 6.

We salute these young men from the Class of 2021 as they move briskly from Delbarton students to Delbarton's youngest alumni!
