On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Morris Plains community gathered at Central Park for the annual Run It Out 5K Run/Walk, an event honoring the legacy of Brian Fleury, a beloved Delbarton School teacher, coach, and mentor who passed away in 2007. This year’s race continued its mission to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), supporting the fight against blood cancers.
The event featured multiple race options, including a 5k run, walk, even a virtual run/walk, as well as a free Fun Run for children aged 12 and under. The Fun Run began at 9:30 AM, followed by the 5K events at 10:00 AM.
Brian Fleury’s impact on the Delbarton community was profound, and the “Run It Out” 5K serves as a tribute to his dedication as an educator and coach. The event not only commemorates his life but also embodies the spirit of community and resilience he championed.
All proceeds are directed to the LLS, contributing to research and support for those affected by blood cancers. The fundraising page remains open, and donations are still being accepted. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us move closer to our goal and makes a tangible difference in the lives of those battling these diseases.
Each year, the “Run It Out” 5K stands as a powerful reminder of what a united community can accomplish. From volunteers to runners, from sponsors to spectators, the event thrives on collective effort and heart. The outpouring of support from families, friends, and neighbors continues to drive the mission forward, and there's still time to be part of the impact!
