The Delbarton Alumni Association kicked off its newest initiative: Delbarton Collegiate. This new initiative stems from the Delbarton Young Alumni Committee led by Gianni Vinci '18, EJ DaCosta '12 and Dan Cimaglia '16 as it aims to support Delbarton's most recent graduates through mentorship as well as bringing connectivity to their respective college locations.
To get this program started, the Alumni Association will start by targeting Boston College, Villanova University, Georgetown University, and the University of Notre Dame this spring as the biggest priority for this program is creating engagement for these young alumni in college. “We want to make sure our young alums feel supported and connected to Delbarton throughout their college experience,” Cimagila explained.
Another key piece to this initiative is combining Delbarton’s local alumni regional clubs in Philadelphia, Boston, DC, and Chicago with these new collegiate chapters. This will allow the alumni community to offer more entertaining ways to meet other generations of Delbarton alumni in the future.
To get the ball rolling with the Delbarton Collegiate program, Cimaglia traveled to Georgetown in Washington, DC in February. With over a dozen Delbarton alumni and current Georgetown students, the group met at the historic restaurant, The Tombs, for an informal get-together. “The vibe was incredible - guys were so excited to get together, hear and experience how the school wants to support them during their college years, and learn about our new Collegiate initiative. They were excited to hear about the field house nearing completion and other projects going on at the school,” reported Cimaglia. The next event for students at Georgetown to attend is our Washington, DC Alumni Reception held at Sequoia Restaurant on April 13.
