Dr. Fabio Frisoli ’05 Returns to Inspire Delbarton Seventh Grade
Meghan Podimsky

On March 26, Delbarton School welcomed back Dr. Fabio Frisoli '05 as part of our Middle School Speaker Series. Reflecting on his time at Delbarton, Dr. Frisoli shared his deep appreciation for the community that shaped him, saying, "I’m happy to give back to the place that gave me so much."

Dr. Frisoli attended Georgetown University for his undergraduate studies before earning his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Now a distinguished neurosurgeon, he serves as Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Overlook Medical Center and Medical Director of Neurotrauma at Morristown Medical Center.

During his talk with our seventh graders, Dr. Frisoli emphasized the lasting bonds he formed at Delbarton. He noted that the friendships he made as a lifer in 1999 remain strong to this day, a theme echoed by many alumni who return to speak with our students and even by alumni fathers now interviewing for their sons.

Dr. Frisoli also credited Delbarton’s rigorous academics with preparing him for the challenges of medical school. He recalled taking demanding yet rewarding courses with Mr. Andrew Kim and Mrs. Fran Bonalsky, as well as Mr. John Thompson, who continues to teach history and coach tennis. Dr. Frisoli recounted how these mentors pushed him to excel and equipped him with the discipline necessary for a career in medicine.

We are grateful to Dr. Frisoli for sharing his journey with our middle school students and for exemplifying the lifelong impact of a Delbarton education.
