Diwali Celebration Lights Up Delbarton
Jessica Fiddes

On November 2, the Delbarton community celebrated Diwali together at a DAP-sponsored event filled with wonderful food, music, games, raffles, and, above all, friendship. To all who attended, thank you for joining us to mark the observance of Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

Diwali is a five-day festival observed by more than a billion people around the world. It originated in India and is now celebrated across the world. The festival gets its name from the Sanskrit word dipvali meaning “a row of lights”, and while specific traditions vary significantly across the diaspora that celebrates, Diwali in essence is a celebration of the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair.

As torans (traditional Diwali decorations) are hung and diyas (oil lamps) are lit across the world, our community at Delbarton wishes you a very Happy Diwali.

Thank you again if you were able to join us and participate in the fun. If you were unable to attend, enjoy some of our favorite photos from our 2021 Diwali event...
