Delbarton Students Volunteer at Bounce Out the Stigma Basketball Clinic
Meghan Podimsky

On Saturday, September 12, Delbarton students volunteered at a special adaptive basketball clinic hosted by Bounce Out the Stigma on campus.

The three-hour clinic welcomed children and young adults with special needs for an afternoon centered on basketball, confidence, friendship, and fun. Delbarton student volunteers worked alongside participants throughout the clinic, offering encouragement and helping them practice basketball and motor skills in a supportive environment.

Led by “Mighty Mike” Simmel, Bounce Out the Stigma provides adaptive basketball camps and clinics that help participants strengthen their skills, develop peer trust, build self-confidence, and make new friends. Its programs use personalized attention and positive reinforcement to ensure every child feels supported.

The clinic reflected Delbarton’s commitment to service by giving students the opportunity to share their time, energy, and encouragement while helping every participant feel supported, included, and celebrated.
