Delbarton is thrilled to announce Jeffrey Liu '26 has been selected as one of the Top 10 finalists in the prestigious Seton Hall University Pirates Pitch for High School Students competition. His startup, RemeMore, an AI-powered augmented reality (AR) smart glasses designed to assist dementia patients, is a groundbreaking initiative that promises to make a profound impact on healthcare.
The Pirates Pitch competition, hosted by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business, will take place on Friday, November 22, from 3 to 6:30 PM at Jubilee Hall Auditorium in South Orange, N.J. During this event, Liu will present his startup in a Shark Tank-style competition alongside nine other talented finalists. These high school entrepreneurs were selected from an impressive pool of applicants from across the U.S. and several other countries.
Liu's business proposal, which describes his innovative AR glasses designed to help dementia patients navigate daily challenges, impressed the judges. The glasses use three cameras and multiple sensors, coupled with machine learning algorithms, to assist patients in identifying people and objects, guiding them home with GPS, and alerting caregivers in the event of a fall. The device offers an independent solution for dementia patients, reducing the burden on caregivers and providing patients with a safer, more autonomous lifestyle.
Despite facing stiff competition from over 225 young entrepreneurs, Liu advanced as a finalist due to his original approach to solving a critical issue. RemeMore stands out as the first AR glasses mass-produced specifically for dementia patients, setting it apart from consumer AR products currently available on the market. “To prepare for the proposal, I had to conduct extensive background research and design the glasses frame using computer-assisted tools. The journey was challenging, but I received tremendous support from my friends and classmates who helped with the design and presentation. It truly was a team effort,” he said.
Now, Liu is eager to present his pitch to the judges, hoping to gain valuable exposure for his innovative product. “Although hospitals and medical engineering companies have already expressed interest in the product, presenting at Pirates Pitch is a significant opportunity to get the word out about RemeMore and potentially make a difference for dementia patients worldwide.”
The event is open to the public, and we encourage the Delbarton community to support Jeffrey by either attending in person or watching the livestream. In addition to the judges’ selection, there is a $300 Audience Choice Award for which attendees can vote for their favorite finalist.
The competition prizes include a $2,500 cash award and a $10,000 scholarship to Seton Hall University for the first-place winner, along with $1,000 and $6,000 scholarships for the second-place winner. All finalists will receive a $4,000 scholarship to Seton Hall.
