Delbarton Senior Nominated for Presidential Scholars Program
Meghan Podimsky

Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB and Director of College Counseling Michael Rosenhaus ‘80 are pleased to announce that Delbarton senior Emerson Lee ‘23 has been nominated for the Presidential Scholars Program. Established in 1964, the Presidential Scholar Program bestows one of the highest honors a graduating senior in the United States can earn.

Since the Program’s inception, nearly 8,000 Presidential Scholars have been recognized for their leadership and community involvement. Every year, the Program selects and organizes its 5,000 candidates into three paths of accomplishment: excellence in education, artistic scholarship, and achievements in a career and technical education field.

Of 5,000 nominees from the nationwide population of 2023 high school seniors, 600 of these young men and women are selected to be semifinalists. From there, the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars evaluates each semifinalist application. Ultimately, 160 Presidential Scholars will be honored in Washington, DC for their accomplishments.

The Delbarton community congratulates Emerson on this wonderful recognition as a Presidential Scholar nominee, and we wish him the best of luck as he continues to navigate the Presidential Scholar process!
