Delbarton School Honors Mike Grey '06 and Pat Glory '18
Jared Lowy

To open today's Friday morning meeting, Delbarton School welcomed back two prestigious wrestling alums Mike Grey '06 and Pat Glory '18.

Mike is currently the head coach of Cornell's wrestling program, while Pat is looking forward to graduation in June from Princeton University.  In March, Mike Grey was named 2023 NCAA Wrestling Coach of the Year, while Glory earned his first NCAA Championship, winning 4-1 in the 125lb final.

In light of their achievements, both men were invited to come and speak to the entire school during the morning meeting.  Mike Grey, joined by his wife and two children (and third on its way very shortly) spoke about the pride that comes with being part of the greatest brotherhood, the Delbarton brotherhood.

In light of his achievements on the mat at Princeton and becoming the first Delbarton alum to win an NCAA wrestling title, Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B. presented Pat Glory with our school's highest honor, the Delbarton medal.  Pat then spoke to the boys about not only the Delbarton brotherhood as well, but how Delbarton prepares you for life after Delbarton.  "There will be hard times, and many obstacles you will have to overcome," said Glory.  "But right now, this will be the hardest time in your life, but later on, when things may not go as you want, your experience at Delbarton will provide you the necessary tools to succeed."

After a quick meeting with the wrestling team, both Mike and Pat took a tour of the new Pizzo Family Field House and the Mike Grey '06 & Pat Glory '18 Wrestling Room, named in their honor by the very generous Davi Family.

We look forward to having Pat and Mike back on campus soon when we officially dedicate the Pizzo Family Field House.
