For the first time in school history, Delbarton will have not one, but two alumni representing the United States at the Olympic Games. Jack Alexy '21, a rising star in swimming, and Morgan Pearson '11, an elite triathlete, have both secured their places on the U.S. Olympic team, marking a significant milestone for Delbarton.
Jack Alexy: Sprinting to Olympic Glory
Jack Alexy, a 2021 graduate of Delbarton, has quickly ascended the ranks of competitive swimming. Known for his prowess in 50m and 100m freestyle events, Alexy recently clinched a spot on the U.S. team with his second place finish in the 100-meter freestyle at the Olympic trials. Alexy will also be part of the highly favored 4x100 men's relay team. His success follows a series of impressive feats, including a silver medal at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships.
Says Alexy the day after his second place finish, "It's a dream come true. I'm still processing everything, but it's such an honor making my first Olympic team and I'm looking forward to competing in Paris!"
Currently training with the California Golden Bears at the University of California, Berkeley, Alexy continues to refine his skills under the guidance of top coaches. His Olympic journey is highly anticipated, as he is poised to make a significant impact in his debut.
Morgan Pearson: Triathlete's Journey to the Olympics
Morgan Pearson, a 2011 graduate of Delbarton, brings a diverse athletic background to the Olympic stage. Originally a standout distance runner, Pearson transitioned to triathlon with remarkable success. He secured his second straight Olympic berth with a series of strong performances on the international triathlon circuit, including a World Triathlon Championship Series in Yokohama in 2024.
Pearson's path to the Olympics is a testament to his versatility and endurance. Balancing the demands of swimming, cycling, and running, he has emerged as one of the top American triathletes. He returns to the Olympics this summer after winning silver in the mixed relay event in 2020.
As Alexy and Pearson prepare to compete in the upcoming Olympic Games, the Delbarton community stands behind them, ready to cheer on their historic journey and celebrate their extraordinary achievements.
