Rising Delbarton senior Wilson Paes '27 has been named the 2026 New York City Teen of Impact by the American Heart Association, earning recognition for his leadership in raising awareness and funds to combat cardiovascular disease.

The Teen of Impact campaign empowers students to become advocates for heart health while supporting the American Heart Association's mission to build longer, healthier lives. Through the program, participants lead fundraising and educational initiatives within their communities to advance research, advocacy, and public awareness.

For Wilson, the cause is deeply personal. "Heart disease took the lives of my great-grandfather and grandfather at age 45," said Paes. "When my father suffered a heart attack at the same age, I was terrified. His survival is what drives my commitment to heart health awareness."

Motivated by his family's experience, Wilson led a dedicated team that mobilized supporters throughout the community in an effort to educate others about cardiovascular health and raise critical funds for the American Heart Association.

Wilson was one of several student leaders selected to participate in the New York City Teen of Impact campaign. Together with fellow nominees, he helped advance the fight against cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.
