Delbarton Hosts Solidarity Sleepout 2026
Jessica Fiddes

Delbarton's Solidarity Sleep Out on April 11 brought together thirty-five students students and seven Delbarton fathers for an evening of reflection, community, and purpose in support of Covenant House. Covenant House offers practical solutions and hope for young people experiencing homelessness. Below are the Delbarton students and dads willing to sleep outdoors on a Saturday night to support this very worthy cause. Gentlemen, we salute you.

Our top three student fundraisers were also recognized—Cristoforo Milelli '27  (#2), Henry Williamson '26 (#1), and Ryan Dooley '27 (#3) pictured below. Together, the Delbarton Sleepout team raised over $56,000—short of our goal, but the school currently remains the top total in New Jersey for Covenant House Sleep Outs.

Williamson also set a new Delbarton record, raising over $45,600 over four years and surpassing the previous record of $35,700 held by Steven Hadley ’17.

The evening began with a powerful program led by Covenant House representatives. Students and fathers heard from a current resident and three alumni who shared their journeys through homelessness and transitioning to stability. They spoke candidly about their challenges including abuse, addiction, and financial hardship, and how they ultimately found transformative support through Covenant House.

After the presentations, Sleepout participants slept outside in chilly 38-degree weather in sleeping bags and cardboard cartons, an experience that offered a sobering glimpse into homelessness.

Director of Mission & Ministry Matt White reports that Delbarton Sleepout 2026 was a meaningful and impactful night for all involved. To help us reach our goal to help end youth homelessness in NJ, we encourage you to donate here
