Delbarton Hosts Open House 2025
Jessica Fiddes

On a spectacular October 5, Delbarton opened its doors to welcome young men and their families of all backgrounds and faiths to our annual Open House event (see photos below). This year's Open House took place from 12 to 3 p.m. and attracted over one thousand guests to the School's 187-acre campus.

During opening remarks in the FAC theater, Dean of Admissions and Director of Financial Aid Mr. Jake Ross welcomed our guests...

...followed by remarks from Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB who explained Delbarton's foundational Benedictine Catholic ethos.

Director of Transportation Zack Tabor also spoke briefly about the important topic of bussing and how students successfully commute to Delbarton from one hundred and twenty towns.

Next, five current students participated in a panel with Mr. Ross at the lectern, answering questions texted from the standing-room-only audience which spilled over into Spada Commons and the Student Commons where the presentation was live-streamed. The panel included, from left, Sthir Khandelwal '26,  Jake Caravello '27, Andre Roberson '28Jake Naughton '29 and John Kinney '30, and we salute them all for doing a fine job conveying the essence of Delbarton.

What better way to learn about the School than by asking the boys themselves? Our young men mixed facts, observations, personal reflections, and humor to create a wonderfully authentic forty-five minute introduction to Delbarton. Texters in the audience asked about time management, how to stay in touch with Delbarton friends in other towns, the benefits of an all-boys school ("but trust me you still meet girls here") and what panelists would change about Delbarton. With so many extra-curricular options, getting involved early and often was a common theme. Responding to a question, one panelist said, "Around here, brotherhood isn't just a buzzword. It's actually real."

Families interested in the Delbarton Middle School remained in the Fine Arts Center theater for a presentation by Director of Middle School Nora McSorley, followed by an opportunity to speak with ten middle schoolers -- 'lifers', as we call them -- who circulated among the potential applicants and their families to answer questions.  These boys volunteered their time on a Sunday to suit up and speak with applicants and parents about their middle school experiences.

For the balance of the afternoon, Open House guests also had an opportunity to meet our Student Ambassadors who guided visitors around campus (follow them on the Delbarton's Admissions Instagram). Campus was wide open, and every aspect of Delbarton -- from Robotics and Entrepreneurship to College Guidance and Financial Aid -- was represented in breakout sessions in Trinity Hall, the FAC, St. Benedict Hall, Old Main and Pizzo Family Field House.

Parents and alumni answered questions too. Shuttle busses transported visitors to the Field House where each sports coach, accompanied by players, greeted boys and families. Fr. Michael and Mr. Ross circulated among the crowd to meet our visitors.

We are gratified by the enthusiasm and interest we witnessed yesterday, and we thank every young man and family who took the time to check us out. Delbarton inspires our students to pursue their passions and fulfill their potential. To begin an application for the 2026-2027 school year, we invite you to click here
