On Veterans Day, we remember our active duty alumni and all in the Delbarton community, including members of the St. Mary's Abbey monastic community, who have served our country. Our Military Service plaque is displayed proudly in Trinity Hall honoring the brave Delbarton alumni who have served over the years as a reminder of their sacrifice and courage to this country.
On November 10, Jim Gallombardo '81 and the Delbarton Alumni Association organized a rendition of Taps at Abbey Cemetery with assistance from Delbarton music teacher Andrew Lyman. Student musicians performed to honor the memory of the ten monks who were veterans of the United States Armed Forces and interred in the St. Mary's Abbey Cemetery.
Abbot Jonathan Licari, O.S.B. read a prayer before this service, followed by Gallombardo reading aloud each veteran's name as an American flag and a custom name placard was placed on each grave.
Today and every day, the Delbarton community is grateful for the sacrifices of our alumni who served in the United States military, and those who are currently serving around the world.
