Delbarton Forensics Excels at Speech & Debate Nationals
Jessica Fiddes

Last week, Delbarton competitors attended the National Speech & Debate Association Tournament in Public Forum Debate in Des Moines, IA where Alex Calder '24 (the Delbarton Class of 2024 Valedictorian) and Zeke Ehrenberg '25 took 6th place overall and earned Delbarton some extra hardware by returning home with a 'School of Excellence in Debate' trophy. Forensics Moderator Mary Gormley, pictured below with Zeke and Alex, reports that this was Delbarton's most impressive NSDA debate finish in over a decade.

In addition, speech captain Jack Grbic '24 and James Freshwater '25 represented the New Jersey district in Extemporaneous speaking and World Schools debate, respectively.

This concludes another year of outstanding achievement for the Delbarton Forensics Society. While Alex (University of Notre Dame) and Jack (Washington University in St. Louis) move on to college this fall, we look foward to the upcoming 2024-2025 season of speech and debate led by successful competitors like Zeke and James, and a team of talented and motivated Delbarton students!
