Delbarton Forensics Achieves During Christmas Season

This past weekend, at Villa Walsh Academy, Michael Simunovich ’29 placed 1st in Declamation at the Middle School Speech tournament.

Recognized for their performances at the Catholic Forensic League at Morris Catholic High School on December 7 were Lorenzo Scola ’27 in Humorous Interpretation and Kabir Singh ‘28 in Oral Interpretation.

Delbarton had an outstanding showing at Princeton University from December 7 to 9. In Congressional Debate, James Freshwater ’25 advanced to Semifinals, Dominic Beck ’25 advanced to Quarterfinals in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Josh Chung ’25 reached Finals, and placed 5th in Informative Speaking.

In Varsity Public Forum, the team of Michael Aiello ’26 and Raymond Xu ’26 and the duo of Riley Ross ’26 and Trevor Wyso ‘26 reached the Double Octofinals; in Novice Public Forum, our competitors Jake Caravello ’27 and Ryan White ‘27 reached the Double Octofinals, and Octofinalists included Holden Leidl ’27 and Ryan Amin ‘27, and Andy Kapp ’27 and Remy Sardar ’30

At the Ridge High School Debates: In Varsity Public Forum, Team Ross/ Wyso advanced to the Double Octofinals, Aiden D'Souza ’25 and Suhaas Valiveti ’25 advanced to Octofinals. In JV Public Forum, Team Caravello/ Amin advanced to Double Octofinals, and Team Leidl/ Kapp advanced to Quarterfinals. Jake Caravello ‘27also won a 9th place Top Speaker Award.

At the Summit High School Holiday Classic, in Extemporaneous Speaking, Alex Meyer ’25 placed 6th and Beck placed 2nd. In Informative Speaking, Chung placed 2nd.
