Delbarton Earns Praesidium Re-Accreditation
Jessica Fiddes

In September, Praesidium, the leader in abuse risk management, once again awarded Delbarton Praesidium Accreditation®. Praesidium Accreditation® is a prestigious honor that publicly demonstrates the organization has worked to achieve the highest industry standards in abuse prevention.  Delbarton is one of seven boarding and day secondary schools in the United States, and currently the only secondary school in New Jersey to earn Praesidium accreditation.

To achieve Accreditation, Delbarton underwent another rigorous process to implement Praesidium’s Accreditation Standards focusing on eight primary operational areas within its operations: policies, screening and selection, training, monitoring and supervision, consumer participation, internal feedback systems, responding, and administrative practices.

Praesidium then verified Delbarton’s successful implementation of these standards. The School will be accredited for three years, from 2025 to 2028, and during this time commits to uphold fundamental organizational values and stringent safety practices that demonstrate its commitment to protecting those in the School’s care from abuse.

Praesidium Accreditation® provides solid proof of sound risk management practices, and the honor distinguishes Delbarton School from others in the field of secondary education. “We are pleased to send the message that we will not compromise on ensuring the safety of those in our care,” said Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B. “Our entire school community is dedicated and committed to proactively keeping those in our care safe from any kind of abuse.”

Praesidium Accreditation® publicly demonstrates to our students, current families and to our alumni and friends that Delbarton School has achieved the highest industry standards in abuse prevention.
