Delbarton Celebrates Grandparents Day 2026
Meghan Podimsky

Delbarton School once again opened its doors this spring to welcome an especially cherished group of guests: grandparents! Building on the success of its inaugural celebration last year, Grandparents Day 2026 brought together multiple generations of Green Wave families for a morning centered on faith, gratitude, and connection.

The day began in the Abbey Church with a special Mass, where students and their grandparents gathered in prayer to reflect on the importance of family legacy and the shared values that shape the Delbarton experience. The liturgy set a meaningful tone for a morning filled with warmth and community.

Following Mass, guests made their way walking and shuttling across campus for a light reception in the Garden, where conversations, laughter, and stories filled the spring air. Families enjoyed refreshments while taking in the beauty of campus life alongside their sons.

Throughout the morning, the Delbarton Shop welcomed visitors with Green Wave spirit wear, offering grandparents a chance to take home a piece of the school community.

Photo opportunities across campus captured meaningful moments between students and their grandparents—memories that reflect the enduring bonds strengthened through Delbarton’s mission of brotherhood and tradition.

As Headmaster Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB, shared during the celebration, hospitality remains central to the school’s identity, a value that was on full display as the community came together to honor those who helped shape Delbarton students into the young men they are today.

Grandparents Day continues to grow as a meaningful tradition at Delbarton—one that celebrates not only the present moment, but the generations of support that make it possible. Special thanks to Director of Events and Parent Engagement Erin Manahan P’19 for bringing this tradition to life year after year.
