Meghan Podimsky

On January 27, more than fifty class representatives spanning the decades gathered at The Madison Hotel for the annual Winter Class Reps Dinner, a cornerstone event that brought together Delbarton alumni for fellowship, updates from campus leadership, and a look ahead to what’s in store for 2026.

The evening began with a lively cocktail hour and the capture of a group photo to commemorate the reunion of classmates and old friends. The event also featured a special appearance from several Senior Councilmen from the Class of 2026, who attended to get a glimpse into alumni life as they prepare for graduation later this year.

Fr. Edward Seton Fittin, OSB ’82, offered the opening prayer, setting a reflective and grateful tone for the evening. Alumni Association President Joe Ferraro ’95 then welcomed attendees and opened the program with remarks about the strength of the alumni network and the ongoing impact of class representatives in reconnecting alumni with the School community.

Fr. Michael Tidd, O.S.B., opened the meeting by offering an insightful update on the state of Delbarton. He spoke about the vibrancy of daily life on campus, highlighting the energy students bring to academics, athletics, arts, and community service. His remarks painted a clear picture of a thriving School community where young men are fully engaged, supported by dedicated faculty, and immersed in the Benedictine values that continue to shape the Delbarton experience.

Dean of Admissions Mr. Jake Ross shared encouraging news about the incoming Classes of 2030 and 2032, noting another exceptionally strong pool of well-qualified applicants. He highlighted the success of the Accepted Students and Family Day held earlier that afternoon, crediting the energy and leadership of Delbarton’s student leaders for creating a welcoming and memorable experience for visiting families. His update underscored Delbarton’s continued appeal and its highly competitive admissions landscape.

Delbarton Athletic Director Dr. Tony Negrin provided an overview of the fall and early winter athletic seasons, celebrating the hard work and achievements of Green Wave student-athletes. In addition to highlighting recent successes and the promise of strong performances throughout the winter sports calendar, Dr. Negrin also announced Delbarton’s 18th varsity sport, Volleyball, which will take to the courts this spring.

One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the Joseph R. McDonough ’68 Award, which honors alumni who have made notable contributions to the Alumni Association. This year, the award was presented to Br. Paul Diveny, O.S.B., recognizing his years of dedicated service to the School and his meaningful impact on the alumni community. His steadfast support, especially through his newest endeavor of teaching a class to alumni on The Rule of St. Benedict, has deepened alumni engagement and exemplified the spirit of service and Brotherhood that defines Delbarton’s alumni community.

The dinner concluded with a closing prayer led by Fr. Michael, who offered blessings for the year ahead and expressed gratitude for the shared past. Attendees left energized by fellowship and the chance to reconnect with old friends while supporting Delbarton’s mission and future initiatives
