This year, Delbarton has twelve artists in the Class of 2024 who displayed their full Sustained Investigations at the annual AP Art Exhibit in the FAC.

Meet our next student artist, Angus McDonald '24:

"I play loads of golf in my free time, and it has become more than just a game for me," started McDonald. "Drawing inspiration from Van Gogh's Impressionistic style, I infuse my works with vibrant textures and colors, especially emphasizing the sky and foliage as focal points."

Although he was initially drawn to golf due to its competitive nature, McDonald has come to appreciate the thought and intricacies behind the overall course design. What drew him in was how the course seamlessly integrates the natural landscape and the man-made elements blend perfectly to create a harmonious view. Throuhgout his Sustained Investigation, McDonald depicted each hole of the course uniquely through different artistic approaches with style, texture, and color to portray the golf course as he pulled inspriation from Van Gogh's work.

"The architecture of the golf course itself serves as a canvas, dictating the emphasis on the land. The open vistas and sprawling skies provide a rich tapestry for artistic interpretation," he said. We salute Angus and his fellow AP Art artists for their exceptional achievements in the arts at Delbarton this year!
