On January 21, more than fifty class representatives spanning across the decades gathered at The Madison Hotel for the annual Winter Class Reps Dinner. This productive meeting provided a wonderful opportunity for attendees to reconnect with their Delbarton friends while staying informed about the latest news from the School.
The evening commenced with a delightful cocktail hour and the capture of a group photo, setting a congenial tone for the event. Fr. Edward Seton Fittin, OSB '82 said grace to open the meeting officially. Alumni Association President Joe Ferraro '95 took the stage, extending a warm welcome to his fellow alumni and initiating the proceedings.
Next, Delbarton Athletic Director Dr. Tony Negrin took the podium to provide alumni with an overview of the fall and current winter athletic seasons. "I couldn't be more proud of our student-athletes," Negrin remarked, highlighting their dedication and achievements.
Following him, Dean of Admissions Dr. David Donovan shared exciting updates on the School's ongoing success in attracting a large pool of well-qualified applicants. He noted that acceptance letters had been sent out the week prior, signaling another strong year for Delbarton admissions.
Rounding out the campus updates, Performing & Visual Arts Chairperson Mr. David Blazier invited alumni to return to campus and experience the arts firsthand. He spotlighted the upcoming musical performance of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and the AP Art Showcase scheduled for February. "These events may seem routine to most, but they are monumental milestones for our boys," Blazier said. "They serve as a reminder for all of us to cherish these meaningful moments and memories together."
To wrap up- the meeting, Craig Paris '82 and Joe Ferraro presented the annual Joseph R. McDonough '68 Award to Gianni Vinci '18 for his dedicated work with the Delbarton Collegiate initiative. The Joseph R. McDonough '68 Award is given out in recognition of an alumnus who has made significant contributions to the Alumni Association. "Gianni is the architect of Delbarotn Collegiate," started Ferraro. "He has been instrumental in setting up multiple chapters at multiple colleges and universities."
The meeting concluded with a closing prayer from Fr. Michael Tidd, OSB, offering a positive and reflective end to the night's discussions. We extend our gratitude to all who joined us for this enlightening and optimistic state-of-Delbarton report!
