The 24th annual Carter Cup, the Metropolitan Golf Association's Junior Stroke Play Championship, was held at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ on Tuesday, August 4. The invitational event is named in memory of Michael P. Carter '00, an accomplished junior player and standout Green Wave golf team member who died in a car accident in 2002. Michael was a junior club champion at Baltusrol and Winged Foot Golf Club and a promising player on the Penn State golf team.

The Carter Cup features 46 top junior golfers from the metropolitan area typically playing 36 holes in the summer heat on the Baltusrol course, a rigorous mental and physical endurance test. This year, Delbarton was represented by Green Wave golfer Axel Brandes '28. Brandes is pictured below with Mary Lou Carter P'00.

Alexandra Phung of Forest Hills, N.Y., and Rayhao Feng of Short Hills, N.J. took home the trophy at this year's Carter Cup after impressive performances led them to the girls' and boys' titles. Phung finished a 5-under par and became the second winner of the girls' division, a year after her older sister claimed the title. Feng, the 2025 runner-up, finished 4-under par and made a late jump up the leaderboard on the Lower Course to claim the championship.
