    Strength and Training Coach Michael Beach reports that on Saturday, May 5, 2012 Delbarton senior Henry Bolo '12 participated in the International Tactical Strength Challenge and placed 6th in the world in his class. Watch the video here.

    Freshman Patrick Fischer '15 wasn't sure what to focus on for his Freshman Project (every freshman has to produce one). When he saw the BEF patch on his Cross Country uniform last fall, he asked Coach John Barnicle what the letters meant. After hearing that the patch honors the late, great Delbarton athletic director Brian Fleury, Fischer decided that his Project would be to organize a 5 K Run in Brian Fleury's memory

    Students Bridging the Information Gap (SBIG), a Summit, NJ based non-profit is holding a book drive this week from April 30th- May 4th. The group is particularly interested in gently used kindergarten through 9th grade fiction and nonfiction books, along with science and math reference books.

    On April 27, 2012 two inmates from among the 23,000 currently incarcerated in New Jersey spoke with emotion about their lives to Delbarton juniors and seniors. The Project PRIDE event, moderated by Michael Ritter, was part of Delbarton's annual pre-prom program to impress upon students the consequences of bad choices.

    On Monday April 30th a team of five crack Delbarton freshmen and sophomore economists, Will Pagano '14, Abhinav Karale '15, Augie Atencio '14, Sid Balaji '14, and Mark O'Meara '15, will compete against 24 other high school teams in the semi final round of this year's Euro Challenge at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

    A team of three Delbarton students took home top honors from among 27 New Jersey high school teamsfor their innovative design and engineering of a space exploration robotic device in the Panasonic Creative Design Challenge (CDC) held on April 24 at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

    In early March Delbarton students enjoyed a two week break from classes. Some were immersed in spring training for sports teams, some took family vacations. Junior Brian Walsh '13 had a different idea...he blasted off at Space Camp.

    On April 4, 2012 Josh Hartle's AP Statistics class replicated a science experiment that won an inquisitive 10th grader, Andrea Axtell, a prize at the 2003 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Read about Andrea here and click here for photos from Delbarton's experiment.

    Congratulations to Mike Kwilos '12 who brought home some major hardware by winning Best-in-Show at the 24th Annual High School Student Art Show sponsored by the Blackwell Street Center for the Arts Inc. This marks the second Best-in-Show for Delbarton at this event. Peter Kristiansen '10 previously won the award back in 2009.

    Each year every Delbarton freshman is charged with producing a year-long independent Freshman Project. Patrick Fischer '15 wasn't sure what to focus on -- just about any subject is fair game -- but last fall when he saw the BEF patch on his Cross Country uniform, he asked Coach John Barnicle what the three letters meant. After hearing Barnicle's explanation, Fischer's Freshman Project was born.
