Faust meets baseball in this Tony Award-winning Broadway classic!
The year is 1955, and the New York Yankees have won 6 of the last 7 American League Pennants. In Chevy Chase, Maryland, middle-aged real estate agent Joe Boyd trades his soul to the Devil (the charming but devious Mr. Applegate) for the chance to lead his beloved Washington Senators to the World Series - if they can just beat those 'damn' Yankees. As young baseball sensation Joe Hardy, he transforms the hapless Senators into a winning team, only to realize the true worth of the life (and wife) he's left behind.
Featuring classic songs "Heart," "Six Months out of Every Year," and "Whatever Lola Wants," DAMN YANKEES won the Tony award for Best Musical in 1956 and Best Revival of a Musical in 1994. The community is cordially invited to attend this classic musical comedy as performed by Delbarton students and a cast of talented girls from area schools.
