Wave Throwers Win Team Title at Randolph Invitational
Posted February 14, 2013
Last Thursday night our athletes put the ‘field’ in Track & Field when they threw their weight around at the annual Randolph Shot Put Invitational at Randolph High School. The meet traditionally pulls in the top names in that event throughout NJ. Throws captain Tommy Rhodes '14 won the gold medal in the junior competition with his throw of 47' 3 1/2". Julian Hislop '16 place second and took the silver in the freshmen section with a 38' 11 1/4". His classmate Sal LoBiando ‘16 was right behind him in third with a throw of 36' 3 3/4".
The scoring for the team title gives points for each grade to combine for a total and Coach Dave Sulley reports that Delbarton won the boys team title for the first time in its history.
In the Sophomore competition, Andrew Otterman ‘15 placed third to take a bronze with his 40' 3 1/2". Other members of the winning team included A.J. Papetti '13, Jerry Donini '14, Brian Desjadon '14 and Will Agathis '14. Congratulations to our throwers…and Go Wave Track & Field!
