Veni, Vidi, Vici...Latin Kings Share Their Bling

Posted October 22, 2012

Veni, vedi, vici. They came, they saw, they (somewhat) conquered. Classics Department Chair Nick Linfante reports that five Delbarton AP Latin students competed in Monclair State's 'Latin Day' on Friday, October 19. The event was sponsored by the Departments of Classics and General Humanities of Montclair State University and included a morning of lectures and discussions followed by academic competition. Our language warriors returned home semi-triumphant, having captured third place out of twenty schools. Juniors Mac Quinn , Augie Atencio, Will Pagano, Clark LaRaia and Chris Jagoe participated in the competition by completing tests in Roman History, Mythology and Latin grammar and were still smiling when we ran into them later that afternoon.

We are proud of our classical competitors -- fearless men who have mastered these Latin declensions and more. Go Wave Latin Kings!
