Football Big Bros Do It Again

Every year Green Wave Football players takes time out from practice and game time to do something great. Coach Brian Bowers and the guys host a football training day for the local Big Brothers program and it's hard to tell who has more fun, the big boys or the little ones. Certainly the exuberant sounds coming from the field are very different from the usual grunts and groans we typically hear during practice. Laughter and hoots ruled the day. Click here for photos.
Delbarton linemen taught little brothers how to block ...running backs and receivers showed boys how to run and catch...little kickers were given a chance to punt. Parents of senior players organized a BBQ, with Mike Campbell and Steve Bergh manning the grill and Donna Campbell on set up and desserts. The little guys' parents and a Big Brothers counselor said the same thing: these mini Wave players look forward to the afternoon of football at Delbarton more than any other outing during the year. And we do too!
Each boy received a nice gift bag (real men don't say 'goodie') that included a mini Delbarton-logo ball. Senior Asad Braswell's little brother was heard to exclaim, "....now we can play catch every time I see you!"
Congrats to our football players, coaches and parents for making this day special for Delbarton's favorite little bros.
