On Monday, October 15 the Delbarton Mothers' Guild Book Group met in the 2nd floor conference room of the Vincent House to discuss The Tender Bar a memoir by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist JR Moehringer.
After a lively book discussion that included eye witness feedback garnered at an author's signing, members were invited to linger for a book sharing time. "Bring lunch and some of your favorite books to share with the rest of us", emailed organizer Claudia Hughes. "We will go around the room and share books we have enjoyed reading over the past year." They even had an official notetaker to record titles and authors to email later to others.
Prior to the meeting members received links to augment the book, including a Q&A with the author, a podcast , a video tour of the book's setting and the NYT book review. Talk about a full service book group! The conference room was cracking with energy, intelligence and humor and the group includes Delbarton mothers, past and present.
The DMG Book Group meets on campus throughout the year. To learn more, contact DMG Book Group communcations guru Karen Chan.
