They came back! And we've got proof...click here for our favorite shots from Homecoming 2012.
From London, Panama, West Coast, East Coast, up North and down South, alumni came back to Delbarton for Homecoming 2012. Students and current families welcomed them with enthusiasm and Delbarton campus was crackling with energy and good cheer. The Braveheart run took a detour this year, forming up by the Fine Arts Center, which probably saved more than a few bones and ligaments. Green Wave Football took care of business, trumping Roxbury 42-7. Delbarton mothers turned decorated food tents into personal renditions of Diners, Drive-ins and (Del) Dives. If you came to Homecoming hungry you certainly didn't leave that way.
After the game, alumni partied in the Senior Garden with food, drinks and music provided by the Alumni Association. By late afternoon things had quieted down and we had a moment to reflect on the special Delbarton community is. Year after year everyone pulls together to produce a fun Homecoming weekend filled with genuine sentiment. Kudos to Director of Alumni & Development J. Craig Paris '82, to Athletic Durector Dan Whalen and Assistant Headmaster Chuck Ruebling '79 for bringing Homecoming to life. As Headmaster Br. Paul Diveny told students at Friday's pep rally, "Homecoming is the one day of the year when Delbarton's past, present and future meet." And what a meeting it was.
Thank you to all the parents, students, alumni, monks and friends who made Homecoming 2012 another memorable day on Delbarton campus.
