Delbarton Families Harvesting to Help

Posted September 24, 2012

Over the summer several Delbarton families found time to volunteer in the fields by taking part in the Americas Grow-A-Row organization. Based in Pittstown, NJ. this program helps the hungry in NJ by growing, harvesting and giving fresh produce and vegetables to those most in need. All harvested crops are distributed to foodbanks, shelters and soup kitchens throughout the Garden State all year long.

Since its inception in 2002 Americas Grow-A-Row has donated over 1.5 million lbs. of produce to neighbors in need. With a volunteer base of over 2,000 and growing, AGAR is playing an important role in delivering healthy and nutritious 'farm to fork' food to many dinner tables. Delbarton dad Kevin Feeley P'09, '12, '16 reports, "In the true spirit of Delbarton the Barone, Elsman, Feeley and McGuire families spent many hours in the fields this summer making a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens of NJ."
