If It's Tuesday It Must Be Bildungszentrum Markdorf

In June four lucky Delbarton students traveled to Germany as part of the School's annual exchange program with Bildungszentrum Markdorf in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Baden-Württemberg is one of the sixteen German states, located in the southwestern part of the country to the east of the Upper Rhine. The area is rich in history dating back to Roman times and shares borders with France, Switzerland, Hesse and Bavaria. Its location near Lake Contance at the northern foot of the Alps also makes boating a popular local pastime.
One rising senior and three recent grads (Fabian Barch '12, Matt Chuckran '13, Vivek Shimpi '12, and Adam Vincent 12) spent June 11 - 25 seeing the many sights with faculty member Kevin Conn. Students and families from Bildungszentrum Markdorf, a school near Lake Constance, served as hosts. Read Adam Vincent's great trip blog here (which complements Kevin Conn's photos, posted here).
Plan ahead for 2013: if you'd like to tour Germany next June and/or your family wants to host a German student next April, contact Mr.Conn. Go Wave Cultural Exchanges!
