Delbarton Forensics Has Two Finalists in National Catholic Tourney

Br. Kevin Tidd, OSB, moderator of the Delbarton Forensic Society, reports that from May 25-28, 2012, eleven members of the organization competed at the 61st National Catholic Forensic League Grand National Tournament in Baltimore, MD.

2700 students from 67 diocesan leagues, representing Catholic, private and public schools from across the nation, vied for National Catholic titles in speech and debate events. Delbarton had two National Finalists this year: Matthew Gibbons ’12 was 5th in Original Oratory, and James Weldon ’12 was 6th in Congressional Debate.

In addition, Nishwant Swami ’13 was a Quarterfinalist (top 24) in Extemporaneous Speaking and Thomas Flatley ’12 was an Octofinalist (top 48) in Original Oratory. Each event began with over 200 competitors in preliminary rounds. Congratulations to our Delbarton Forensics competitors...Go Wave Forensics!
