Each year every Delbarton sports team sponsors a community service project. This year Green Wave lacrosse is raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), an organization founded in 2003 that enlists the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. WWP's stated vision is "To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history."

To highlight their efforts, the team has invited former Army 1st Lt. John Fernandez to speak in the FAC Theater tonight at 7:30 pm. Fernandez is a former West Point lacrosse team captain who lost both legs in 2003 while deployed in Iraq. He will talk about his life in lacrosse and the military, and promote the Wounded Warrior Project for which he actively raises funds through public speaking engagements.

Members of Green Wave lacrosse also collect donations for WWP at several sports events including the Saturday, April 28th Fairfield Prep @ Delbarton lacrosse game and picnic and, again, on Wednesday, May 2nd – WWP DAY – at the 4 PM Summit @ Delbarton lacrosse game.

All Delbarton community members, friends and neighbors are cordially invited to hear Lt. John Fernandez speak on behalf of the Wounded Warrior project on the evening of March 27th in the FAC.

Go Wave Lax...Go Black Knight Lax...and please support the Wounded Warrior Project.
