Congratulations to the Green Wave tennis team which was named 2011 Daily Record Boys Tennis team of the year. Read the Daily Record write-up here. This season the team won its tenth consecutive Morris County title, brought home the state Non Public A title and was a tenacious finalist in the Tournament of Champions. The line-up included (first singles) Chase Savage '12, (second singles) Spenser Furey '12. (third singles) Matt Massey '11, (first doubles) Garrison Block '12 and Eric Shiuey'12, and (second doubles) Tommy Pigott '11 and Mike Boyle '12. Coach John Thompson credits the season's success to the Delbarton tennis program's motto of getting 2% better at every practice and at every match.
Five of Thompson's seven starting players return next season so the program's future looks bright. We salute the team and its coach for an oustanding season. Go Wave Tennis!
