It's summer, sports fans, time for a baseball and a grilled 'dog as you watch Delbarton alums compete on their field of dreams...
On a steamy Monday night, July 16, the Somerset Patriots visited the Long Island Ducks for an Independent League showdown at Bethpage Ballpark in East Islip, NY. Pitcher Mike Loree ’03 started for the Long Island Ducks while Dan DeGeorge ’05 played shortstop for the Somerset Patriots. Danny went 2 for 3 against Mike with 1 strikeout. Green Wave Baseball coaches Bruce Shatel, Gerry Brophy, and Matt Goldsmith '04 were in attendance to see two former Green Wave standouts battle it out. (Final score: Ducks 7, Patriots 4 in the first of a four-game series.)
Delbarton alumni and friends have another chance to see DeGeorge in action on Wednesday, July 25 when the Patriots play Houston's Sugar Land Skeeters. Click here to reserve your complimentary ticket, courtesy of the Delbarton Alumni Association. Game time is 7:05 pm.
