Delbarton has a full calendar of arts-related events during November and December. (Click here for a reproducIble poster to spread the good news). All concerts take place in the comfort of the Fine Arts Center Theater, and all are free of charge and open to the public. Delbarton Arts Consortium (DAC) provides free refreshments after most events.
Friday, November 11 8:00 pm Delbarton Choral Concert: Featuring Schola Cantorum, the Benedictones, Gothicappella, and several guest musicians.
Thursday, November 17 7:00 pm - Young Abbey Orchestra Concert: The Young Abbey Orchestra performs four pieces: Hopak, a Russian Folk Dance; Rosamunde, from the Ballet; For the Star of County Down, a medley of Irish Folk Songs; and Ashokan Farewell. This free concert is a wonderful opportunity to expose young students to the beauty and power of orchestral music.
Friday, November 18 8:00 pm - Instrumental Concert: Featuring the Brass, Clarinet, Percussion, Saxophone, Flute, Jazz, and Wind Ensembles. Bonus: The Wave sports team with the highest percentage of attendees, and the Delbarton club with the highest percentage of attendees, each will win a pizza party, courtesy of DAC. Also, for every guest that you bring, receive a raffle ticket.. The raffle prize is dinner for two at Morristown's Urban Table.
Saturday, November 19 8:00 pm- Abbey Orchestra Concert: Beethoven's Coriolanus Overture, Opus 62 in C minor and Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony will be performed.
Friday and Saturday, December 2-3 - FAC Christmas Decorating DAC members and their families are invited to decorate the Fine Arts Center lobby for Christmas. All are welcome -- many hands make light work!
Sunday, December 4 - DAC Christmas Tree Sale Does your family need a fresh, fragrant Christmas tree? Look no further than Delbarton for the Annual DAC Christmas Tree Sale on Sunday, December 4th. Calling all DAC volunteers -- all help is appreciated during the sale.
Sunday, December 18 7:00 pm - The Annual Delbarton Christmas Concert. This annual concert is the signature event of the Delbarton Christmas season. Reward yourself and your family by pausing to enjoy classic carols and music, followed by refreshments in the Delbarton Fine Arts Center.
Join us for one, some or all of these wonderful concerts. Student musicians have been working hard in rehearsals since September, and are excited to share their talent with friends, family, and the entire Delbarton community. If you have never been to a Delbarton School concert come see another side of our student body. If you regularly attend Delbarton music concerts, consider bringing some friends and family along with you to enjoy these fall concerts. The boys enjoy seeing teachers, friends and families in the audience. All concerts are free and open to the public..
