John Cholish '02 Loves a Good Fight

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Byline: Jessica Fiddes

Cholish scored a knock-out on December 10, 2011 in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. He fights again on May 2 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford.

The Cornell Daily Sun is running a great article on Delbarton alum John Cholish '02 who wrestled for the both the Green Wave and Big Red. Read the article here.

Cholish has drawn national publicity for an unusual biographical detail in fighting— his day job as a Wall Street energy broker for natural gas and crude oil futures and options. Sportswriters have enjoyed profiling the “Ivy League energy broker turned fighter” and are impressed that Cholish balances two fast-paced, grueling careers, sometimes training two and three times a day in preparation for a fight.

Want to see our man Cholish in action? His next scheduled fight under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner is on Saturday May 5 at the Izod Center right around the corner in East Rutherford. Anyone for a road trip?

Go John Cholish '02...and Go Wave Wrestling!
